About Schield Wikas MD, Dermatologist
Dr. Schield Wikas is a highly educated and experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in pharmacy and medicine. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and is married with three children. Dr. Wikas graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati in 1964, followed by the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy in 1969. He then pursued further education at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he obtained a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology and Therapeutics in 1973.
Dr. Wikas gained valuable experience working as a pharmacist in community and hospital pharmacies in Cincinnati for 2 years before continuing his medical studies at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience. He graduated in 1979 with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He completed a rotating internship at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in 1980 and went on to residency training in Internal Medicine and Dermatology at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1980-1984.
Dr. Wikas is a board-certified Dermatologist by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology since 1984. His extensive education and training allow him to provide high-quality care to his patients with expertise and professionalism.
Dr. Wikas established Tri-County Dermatology in 1984, with locations in Cuyahoga Falls, Kent, and Canton Ohio. He worked alongside his partner, Dr. Monte Fox. Dr. Wikas also served as a Program Director for dermatology residency programs at Western Reserve Hospital, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (ACGME Certified) from 1990-2021. The residents he trained now practice throughout the United States.
During his time at Tri-County Dermatology, Dr. Schield Wikas, D.O. was a clinical staff member at Western Reserve Hospital, Akron General, Summa, University Hospitals-Portage, Akron Children’s Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and Aultman Hospital. Additionally, he held a position on the clinical faculty at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
