One of the questions we get the most when it comes to our CoolSculpting services is when is the best time to do it?
While there is no downtime to CoolSculpting, the results do take up to three months to see the full effects. Here to answer some of our questions about CoolSculpting are Dana Baker, LPN and Heidi Palipchack, CNP.
1. Timing is everything
Why is this a good time of year to get CoolScultping done?
“While anytime of the year is a good time for CoolSculpting,” Dana says, “the winter months get you summer ready! By completing your CoolSculpting treatments during the cold months your results are in full effect by the beautiful warm summer! So, to get bathing-suit-ready, it is best to do your treatments during the winter.”
2. Take charge of stubborn fat now
Even if you are doing what you can with diet and exercise, some areas of fat are just stubborn and you have a harder time to diminish it in certain areas!
But why do fat cells accumulate in certain spots and why are they different for different people?
Heidi explains, “Every person is shaped differently, and they accumulate fat in different areas of their body. There are 2 types of fat: visceral (behind the muscle wall) and subcutaneous (the squishy fat). Subcutaneous fat is the fat that is treatable by CoolSculpting. Patients see wonderful results in all areas, but especially in areas that are ‘hard to exercise’ such as the submental area (under the chin).”
“Coolsculpting provides a way to treat this problem area that may remain stubborn otherwise.”
3. Make your self-esteem a priority
Now more than ever, feeling good about ourselves can be a challenge. With CoolSculpting, you can take control and make a change in a positive way. So how can CoolSculpting improve self-esteem?
“I had a 30-year-old male patient who presented with concerns of lower abdomen fat, sharing that he was finding it difficult to lose weight,” Heidi says. “We did two rounds of CoolSculpting to treat the area, and I saw him 90 days after the last treatment for his follow-up appointment. He had participated in rigorous exercise and diet during this time. At this follow-up appointment, we were determining if he should participate in a third round of CoolSculpting with our petite size applicators. However, the results he had achieved between the first two rounds of CoolSculpting paired with the changes to his lifestyle, meant that he no longer had any ‘pinchable’ subcutaneous tissue in his abdomen!”
“Our work here was done! He was very happy with his results, stating he had much more confidence. He planned to continue his health journey with maintaining his results and building muscle.”
4. Any time is a good time for CoolSculpting
While full results can take a while to enjoy, and therefore should be accounted for in your timing, there is really no bad time for CoolSculpting because there is little to no downtime!
Dana explains, “Your CoolSculpting journey begins with a 360 Consultation with one of our Aesthetic Nurses. During this consultation, an assessment will be completed to provide you with your own personalized plan to meet your goals. We will go over all details of how CoolSculpting works, what the treatment is like, and what to expect after. ”
“At your treatment appointment,” Dana continues, “we will take your ‘before’ pictures and get you all set up for your treatment. The applicator will be placed, and you will feel a suction. Once cooling is initiated you will feel the area getting colder and colder then it will go numb for the remainder of your treatment. After the specified time, the applicator will be removed, and we will provide a 2-minute massage to the area, this may feel a little odd because of the numbness. Once all areas are treated you can leave our facility and do whatever you have planned for your day as there is no downtime with this procedure.”
“Keep in mind a little tenderness and swelling is completely normal after the procedure and there is a chance you can develop bruising from the suction, but that is not very common. Two rounds of treatment are usually recommended, and you will come back for your second round 8-10 weeks later. After that you can expect your full results within 3 months!”
Ultimately, the best time for CoolSculpting is always, but it’s important to keep these things in mind when it comes to deciding when to pull the trigger and make a real change for you by becoming your best self.
