Mayfield Heights, OH – (July 25, 2024) Apex Dermatology is proud to be the Local Presenting Sponsor & Apparel Partner of the 2024 Cleveland Miles for Melanoma 5K benefiting the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF). Miles for Melanoma is a nationwide series of run/walks that allows participants to support and raise funds for the MRF by coming together in their community alongside fellow melanoma patients, survivors, caregivers and supporters.
Apex Dermatology has participated in the Cleveland event since 2019. This year, Apex stepped up to become the primary sponsor for the Cleveland event. In order to maximize and promote involvement, the practice covers the cost for all employees, as well as their friends and family, to participate. This year, Apex has also extended involvement to their wide patient base, encouraging patients to join Team Apex for race day and/or make a donation to support the worthy cause.
In addition to its sponsorship, Apex Dermatology helps market the event by placing postcards at all 14 of their locations, with the goal of educating the community about melanoma prevention and early detection. As another push to fundraise, Apex also partnered with local restaurants including Chipotle in Mayfield, Bibibop in Mayfield, Buffalo Wild Wings in Willoughby, Red Robin in Willoughby, BJ’s Brewhouse in Orange Village, Game Time Bar & Grill in Canton, Bibibop in Solon, and Chipotle in Solon. A popcorn fundraiser with Metropolis Popcorn and Poppin Popcorn online will also contribute to fundraising for the event.
Apex providers also give back all year long by offering free education on skin cancer prevention to students, seniors and more. Additionally, Apex hosts “Melanoma Monday” at the beginning of May across all locations, offering free skin cancer spot checks to help identify skin cancers that otherwise may go undetected.
The Cleveland 2024 Miles for Melanoma event will take place on Sunday, August 4th, 2024 at Edgewater Park in Cleveland, Ohio.
All in-person and registered participants will receive the 2024 Miles for Melanoma Cabana Life UPF 50+ shirt and event activities include a photo booth, free giveaway items from sponsors, outdoor games, free facing painting, and balloon making.
