New & Revived: How EmFace and EmSculpt Target Skin Goals Most Effectively

We’re living in a time of advancement and discovery—especially in the skin and body area. Much of the “that just happens as you age” rhetoric around your face and body are now being replaced with rebuttals citing new inventions and technology that make those statements false.

With the knowledge and technology we have today, “that just happens as you age” is no longer a valid explanation. With EmFace and EmSculpt, that’s even more true.

Taking us through how this new technology works is Dana Baker, Aesthetic nurse at Apex Skin in Hudson. She says, “The thing I’m most excited for is to offer these new technologies to my patients who have been wanting new options to achieve their skin and body goals.”

EmFace: Younger-Looking Skin in a Nutshell

There’s only so much topical treatment work you can do on your skin. Skin isn’t the only factor in aging. When your muscles weaken with age, it shows in your skin. EmFace is a solution for that.

What is EmFace?

“EmFace is a laser treatment which targets muscles and skin simultaneously to tighten, lift, and tone the face.”

Have you ever done a workout for your face? Probably not, because it’s not the easiest place to learn exercises to tone and lift, but it can be toned and lifted. But EmFace doesn’t just tone the muscles beneath the skin, it also targets the skin for an even treatment.

How does EmFace work?

For the skin element, Dana explains, “Synchronized RF remodels and smooths skin by heating the dermis and increasing the levels of collagen and elastin fibers.”

At the same time, “The HIFES technology restores and elevates support of facial tissues by selectively contracting muscles and increasing density and quality of muscle structure.”

Basically, a workout for your face, and just like you’re able to target certain muscles during a workout, EmFace can target specific areas that you have goals for improving.

What results can I expect from EmFace Treatment?

Results will always vary from person to person because it depends on so many factors.

That said, Dana explains that on average, you can expect, “an increase in collagen, elastin, and resting muscle tone. This leads to an average of 37% less wrinkles and 23% more lift.”

The more clear you are with your dermatologist about your goals and overall skincare regimen, the more results you can expect.

What is the downtime?

EmFace is a non-invasive procedure that requires no recovery or downtime. You can get a treatment over your lunch hour and return to work without worry.

How long does it take to see results and how long do they last?

You begin to feel your EmFace results right after the treatments.

“Optimal results are usually reported in 90 days after the last session and continue to improve for several weeks following the treatment.”

Do you recommend additional treatments with EmFace?

Treatment protocol consists usually of four to six 20-minute treatments, scheduled 5-10 days apart.

“The EmFace is a game changer in facial aesthetics because it lifts and smooths without needles!”

EmSculpt – Trim Fat & Sculpt Muscle Simultaneously

If you want to grow some muscle and expand your results, EmSculpt is a great option because you’re able to remove fat and tone in specifically targeted areas.

What is EmSculpt NEO?

“EmSculpt NEO is the first non-invasive device designed to eliminate fat cells by an average of 30% and build muscle by an average of 25%!”

This treatment targets fat and muscle at the same time using radiofrequency, allowing you to get better results faster than many other methods.

How does EmSculpt NEO work?

“EmSculpt simultaneously emits both radiofrequency and high-intensity electromagnetic energies (HIFEM+),” Dana explains. “The RF brings temps in the subcutaneous fat to levels that cause apoptosis, which means fat cells are permanently destroyed..

For the muscle building, she says, “HIFEM+ energy contracts the muscle fibers in the area at intensities that are not achievable during voluntary workout.”

Meaning, EmSculpt can help you work on areas that you can’t otherwise.

What body parts can it be used on?

EmSculpt NEO can be applied over the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms, and calves.

What is the downtime after treatment?

There is no downtime with this procedure. Much like the EmFace, you can get back to your daily routine right after the treatment.

How many treatments are recommended?

Protocol for EmSculpt NEO is the same as EmFace: four to six 30-minute treatments, scheduled 5-10 days apart. Any deviation from this would be dependent on you and your provider.

How long does it take to see results and how long do they last?

Each patient’s results may vary, but the best time to see the final results is 3 months after the last treatment. Fat cells are permanently reduced in the area.

“The results patients can achieve with the EmSculpt are so much more than they can do with just diet and exercise. If you are doing all you can at home and in the gym, but can’t quite get where you need, EmSculpt can help you get there!”

What is the difference between EmSculpt NEO and CoolSculpting?

The EmSculpt NEO treats both fat and muscle in a single treatment while CoolSculpting focuses solely on the treatment of excess fat.

Can they be used together?

“Absolutely! While each treatment offers its own set of benefits, there’s no beating the fine-tuned results they deliver when they work together.”

CoolSculpting can be used in areas EmSculpt cannot yet. CoolSculpting can be used to de-bulk and prepare for EmSculpt to finish results. Of course, your care provider will be able to better help you put together a treatment regimen based on where you’re at right now and your goals.
