Cleveland, OH November 4, 2019– Apex Dermatology has earned two more prestigious accolades. The Weatherhead 100 awards are the premier celebration of Northeast Ohio’s spirit of entrepreneurship and the companies leading the way in Northeast Ohio. Each year, they recognize an elite group of companies who are the best example of leadership, growth and success in our region.
Additionally, Apex Dermatology has been selected as an honoree for the 2019 Medical Mutual Pillar Awards for Community Service. This honor presented by SmartBusiness recognizes businesses of all types and sizes that make outstanding contributions to their community. Its purpose is to encourage a charitable environment, recognize creative efforts that make a difference and demonstrate the ties between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds.
Dr. Jorge Garcia-Zuazaga founder of Apex Dermatology says, “These two awards mean so much to us at Apex. The Weatherhead 100 truly recognizes how far we’ve come since we began in 2011. Thanks to our strong team, we have grown so much, and are now able to offer premier, accessible dermatology care across all of Northeast Ohio. It’s truly an honor to be able to do what we do, and now to reach so much of Northeast Ohio. We look forward to continuing to grow and remain a vital part of our community.”
The Pillar Award is equally humbling, as Apex is a truly generous organization due to our amazing employees. Our team is here because they believe in our mission of transforming lives. And usually that’s through dermatology care, but sometimes it also happens through philanthropy. We are proud to have given to many organizations including The Melanoma Research Foundation, Toys for Tots, and community organizations local to each of our 7 offices. In addition, we give back on our own. At Apex, we have provided countless free skin cancer screenings, and have recently launched the Purple Heart Project, where Apex provides scar revisions at no cost to qualified Veterans.”
Representatives from Apex Dermatology will attend award ceremonies for each event this December.
Earlier this year, Apex Dermatology was named one of the “Top Places to Work” by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. In addition, Dr. Garcia-Zuazaga was also selected as a finalist for the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
He adds, “It’s been quite a year for us at Apex. I know they won’t all be like this, but it feels really good to have reached this point and to be recognized for everything we’re doing. I feel honored to lead such a passionate and talented group and I look forward for more great things to come.”
